Goal: understand the administrator role and set a useful learning objective. Allow approximately 10 minutes for this reading and reflection.
Azure administration connects identity, resources, networking, storage, compute and operations. An administrator needs to understand what a change does, which account authorises it, how its result can be checked and what happens when it fails. A successful exercise is therefore more than a command that prints a success message. It produces an observable result and a recoverable environment.
What this starter track gives you
- Set up an open AI tutor on your own device.
- Refresh the difference between a tenant, subscription and resource group.
- Create and remove a small, disposable Azure lab.
- Write a study plan tied to the current AZ-104 objectives.
This course introduces a learning workflow. It does not cover the complete Microsoft exam syllabus, issue a Microsoft credential or guarantee an exam pass. The practice questions are original learning checks, not copied exam questions. Use the Microsoft AZ-104 study guide as the reference for the current scope.
The tutor’s job and your job
The tutor can explain a concept, ask a question and help interpret a redacted error. You choose the account and subscription, inspect proposed changes, verify the documentation and check the result. Keep credentials and private customer material out of prompts. Local inference is useful for controlling where a conversation runs, but it does not make every answer correct.
For each session, keep four short notes: my objective; what I tried; evidence of the result; what I still need to verify. This makes progress visible and prevents a fluent explanation from becoming an unsupported assumption.
Your first exercise
Choose one starting position: you already administer Azure; you know cloud concepts but have little Azure practice; or you are beginning with both. Write one administrative task you want to understand. For example: identify which subscription owns a resource, explain why a user cannot change it, or inspect a storage account’s access settings.
